Leo's Happy Tail

Success Story

Thank-You to Marie & Dan for fostering Leo!

Leo was surrendered to Collie Rescue Network by his owner due to allergies in their family.  We're not sure what happened with Leo but we do know that he came to us a bit of a mess.  His ears were both torn due to a combination of fly strike (where they flies were eating away at his flesh) and frostbite.  His tail was snapped off almost at the half-way point and the vet felt it likely froze and snapped off.  His muzzle is a mess of scar tissue, again a combination of fly strike and frostbite.

Despite Leo's physical condition, he was a happy, bouncy boy who loved to play.  Leo was adopted and now lives outside of Ottawa with his new collie brothers and even some cats he seems to like just fine.  Leo is doing great and we're thrilled for him that he will never, ever have to spend another night outside in the cold!
