Please be sure to read our Adoption Process page prior to submitting an adoption application.  Our goal with each and every Collie that comes into rescue with Collie Rescue Network is to make that perfect match between the Collie and your family.  Just like people each Collie is an individual with special quirks, needs, likes, dislikes and their very own personalities.  Not every Collie is right for every home (some Collies are couch potatoes, some would make great agility dogs and have energy to spare, some are quiet and laid-back and some will bark at every leaf that blows past the house).  Our adoption process is designed to help make that perfect match between our Collies and your family happen.

Before you adopt, make sure a Collie is the right breed for you.  Many people just think “Lassie” and forget that Collies are a herding breed and come with some typical herding breed quirks.  Read the Is A Collie Right For You page before you make that final decision.  Also check out the All About Collies link for information about the breed history, health issues related to Collies in particular and more.

If you’re just not ready to adopt right now, have you thought about fostering a Collie?  Foster Homes provide the safe environment and the love to a Collie who needs a place to wait for his/her furever home to come along.  Read more about fostering here.

If you can’t foster a Collie, there are lots and lots of other ways you can help Collie Rescue Network and make a direct impact on the lives of the rescue Collies.  Check out our Volunteer Page to see how you can help today!

Please note that there is a $350.00 adoption donation for all our rescue Collies.  This cost helps off-set the costs incurred by the Collie while in our care.  To date our average cost per Collie is just over $600.00.  The adoption donation helps cover a portion of that cost.
