Not only do none of our volunteers get compensated in any material way but they are also almost always out-of-pocket for things like postage, office supplies, gas for transportation and many, many more incidentals that crop up here and there in the world of rescue.  Every single penny that comes into our rescue is used to better the lives of the dogs in our care.  We incur thousands of dollars in vetting bills each and every year to ensure that every Collie in our care is treated ethically, humanely and is healthy and fully treated prior to adoption.  The average cost of each Collie that goes through our rescue program is just over $700.00.  Our requested adoption donation of $500.00 obviously does not cover all the costs incurred and therefore we rely on fundraisers, donations or sponsorships from the general public to continue this level of care.
