The Furever Foster program was designed for dogs just like Bella.  She came to rescue way back in 2014. Right off the bat we knew she would need a very special home due to her quirky ways. Her foster mom occasionally found her standing on a table, she was bossy with the other dogs but wasn't sure what she wanted to boss them around about really, she was iffy with the house kitty. Her foster mom described Bella as "dancing to the beat of her very own drum"

Bella also has E.P.I. (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency). This means she need to have special enzymes added to everything she eats. Even treats need to be coated with the enzymes so her body can process the food. Without them, the nutrients of all food she eats just passes right through her, leading, eventually, her death. With the enzymes though, she can live a full and happy, normal life.

Bella waited on the adoption list for over 4 years but no good matches came her way. When we looked at the amount of time she'd spent with her foster family, her quirky behaviours, and her medical needs, it was decided that it was in her best interest to allow her to remain in the care of her foster mom and dad, and remain the responsibility of the rescue for the rest of her life.

Bella needs sponsors the help off-set the cost of her daily enzymes as well as her food (she, like a lot of Collies, has a suuuuper sensitive stomach and can only tolerate one brand of vet prescribed food). Combined her monthly costs are approximately $150-200.
